Shelter Building

Shelter Building

Shelter building is one of the core bushcraft skills and a favourite among children. Working in teams, participants learn how to construct shelters using natural materials found in their surroundings, developing creativity and problem-solving skills.

Children are taught the fundamentals of structure, stability, and protection from the elements. They must think critically about positioning, materials, and teamwork to successfully build a functional shelter.

This activity not only develops practical skills but also strengthens communication and collaboration. By the end, children experience a strong sense of achievement, having created something entirely from scratch.
